The Çanakkale Bridge, a monumental structure symbolizing resilience and triumph, embarked on its construction journey in 2017, spanning the historic Gallipoli peninsula, a sacred site where countless heroes sacrificed their lives during the First World War. The bridge, connecting the Gallipoli peninsula to the town of Çanakkale Lapseki, stands as a testament to engineering marvels and national pride, completing its awe-inspiring construction in February 2022.

Initially slated to be unveiled on President Erdogan's birthday, the unveiling date underwent a significant shift, resonating with the nation's historical narrative. In response to public sentiments and concerns expressed by opposition parties, the inauguration date was recalibrated to March 18, commemorating the Turkish naval victory in the Battle of Çanakkale. March 18, 2022, marked the historic day when the Çanakkale Bridge was officially inaugurated, with President Erdogan delivering an impactful opening speech.

During the inauguration, President Erdogan generously announced a week-long toll-free period for citizens to experience the grandeur of this engineering marvel without financial constraints. Additionally, he revealed that, following the complimentary period, the cost of crossing this monumental bridge would be set at 200 Turkish liras, providing an affordable and efficient means of transportation while contributing to the nation's infrastructure and economic growth. The Çanakkale Bridge, beyond being a physical link between two points, stands as a symbol of national unity, strength, and progress for generations to come.

New Update March 29th 2022

6000 vehicles passed through the canakkale bridge on the first day, which started to be charged. Every day, 45,000 vehicles will be guaranteed to pass through the bridge, and every pass under 45,000 will be paid from the treasury of the Republic of Turkey to the company that built the Çanakkale Bridge.
