Inspiration of Hesiod and the Muses
Hesiod, a thinker living in Aliga district, is a philosopher who learned about the formation of Gods, Goddesses and the world through the Muses, daughters of Zeus. He discussed this information in depth in his book "Theogony, Works and Powers". According to Hesiod, above all, chaos and darkness constituted the starting point. However, the Muses who inspired him shed light on the creation of the universe and divine beings.
Muses are nine goddess sisters who emerged as the product of the love of Zeus and Mnemosyne. These nine Moses and the areas they represent are:
1. **Euterpe:** He is an expert in flute (music).
2. **Erato:** He is skilled in the field of lyrical love poems with chorus.
3. **Kalliope:** She is one of the pioneers of epic poetry.
4. **Kleio:** Interested in history and inspires historiography.
5. **Melpomene:** She is knowledgeable about tragedy.
6. **Polymnia:** Specializes in sacred poetry and inspiration.
7. **Terpsikhore:** He is talented in dance and art.
8. **Thalia:** Inspires comedy genre works.
9. **Urania:** Has knowledge about astronomy and astronomy.
In addition, these Moses names also form the names of the chapters in the "History" book of Herodotus, known as the father of history. The information Hesiod learned is a fundamental source not only for mythology and the intellectual world, but also for understanding history. Interestingly, the etymological origin of the word "museum" dates back to the Muses. Muses have been a source of inspiration in many fields related to culture, art and science.
