SULTAN'S TOMB

you can visit tombs of Ottoman Sultan Mustafa, Sultan Ibrahim,Sultan Selim the second and his wife Nurbanu Sultan, Sultan Murat Third, his Wife Safiye sultan and 23 sons,Sultan Mehmet Third and his wife Handan Sultan. Entrance is free of charge.


HURREM (ROXELANA) SULTAN'S TURKISH BATH

Turkish Bath was built by Great Architect  Sinan by order of Hurrem (roxelana) Sultan , wife of suleimon the magnicificent in 1556.This Turkish bath  was constructed on Zeuxippos Rome bath which was built in 196.


GREEN HOUSE 

Green house is one of the Mansion which was erected by An Ottoman Grandee Reji Naziri Sukru Bey , the minister of Ottoman Tobacco monopoly in 19th century. Green House is one of hotel which is operated by Touring and Automobile Club of Turkey.

 

 


CEDID MEHMET EFENDI MADRASAH AND HANDICRAFT CENTER 

Cedid Mehmet Efendi Madrasah was Theological School which date back  to 18th century. Today you can join course of handicraft like Glasswork,Porcelain,Ceramic,Bijouterie,Crochet-Dolls,Cloth painting,Meerschaum,Calligraphy,Beads,Marbling,Illumination-Miniature,Silversmith,Mother of pearl art in Cedid Mehmet Efendi madrasah.

 


SAHABE H.ABDURRAHMANI SAMI'S TOMB

SAHABE H.ABDURRAHMANI SAMI was the companions of the Prophet Muhammad.he was bannerman of Ebu Eyup el Ensari. he was also father in law of Caliph Ebubekir. he was martyred  during conquering of Constantinople.

CAFERAGHA MADRASAH

 

Caferagha Madrasah was constructed in 1559 by Great Architect Sinan with the orders of Caferagha , a eunuch during the reign of Sultan Suleyman The Magnificent (1520-1566). Caferagha madrasah was converted by Turkish Cultural Service Foundation, into a touristic centre with 15 Classrooms, a big salon and a peaceful garden where Traditional Turkish Handicrafts like marbling,callligraphy, gilding, miniature, binding, jewellery, ornament, pottery making,porcelain, wood painting, stained glass, mozaic,mother of pearl art, Ottoman language,nay, oud, baglama,kanun,guitar  are made and sold since 1989. 


SOGUKSU CESMESI STREET

 

Sogukcesme Street located between Topkapı palace's wall and Hagia sophia Museum. you can see Ottoman style  wooden houses, magnolia trees, library, house where 6th President of Turkey Republic Fahri Koruturk was born, and Cistern Restaurant.

 

 

 


CISTERN RESTAURANT

 

This cistern was built in 542 in the era of justinian1. Byzantine Roman Emperor (527-565) in order to provide water to the big place and the other buildings.

it is fifteen hundred year old water cistern with high dome  carried by six massive columns and it is made  from bricks in 60s and 70s, It was used to be a vehicle repair shop.

 

It is romantic restaurant , there are almost 200 candles lit all at the same time, where live piano performances are held.


TALAT PASHA MANSION

themansion that was officail residance of Talat pasha , grand vizier, in 1917-1918, was restored by Architect Cengiz Bektas in 1987. Today first and second stories are used by the National Olimpic Commitee of Turkey, and third story is used by the international Union for local Authorities.
